Finance & Administration Officer

workDefence for Children Italy is recruiting a Finance & Administration Officer.

He/she will be responsible for the administration and financial management of the EU funded projects.

He/she will ensure the correct and effective management of financial resources, in accordance with the organization procedures and European guidelines, control monitoring and reporting.

ABOUT DEFENCE FOR CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL:

Defence for Children International is a leading child rights-focused and membership-based grassroots movement placing all members on equal footing. Created during the International Year of the Child (1979), Defence for Children International coordinated the NGO input for the drafting of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) – the most widely-ratified human rights treaty in history. Defence for Children’s mandate is to ensure ongoing, practical, systematic and concerted action directed towards effective implementation of the human rights codified in the UNCRC, by means of its effective coordination between different levels (national, regional and international) and its active membership within key networks and fora. Defence for Children International counts with 37 grass-root organisations (National Sections and Associated Members) in five different continents, involving over 300 trained and specialized local staff and volunteers, who contribute daily to defend and protect the human rights of children. Defence for Children Italy joined the DCI movement in 2005 and has a legal office in Rome and an operative office in Genova. Since 2018 DCI is also member of the International Social Service.

WORKPLACE: Genova

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

He/she will be responsible of:

  • Prepare the reporting of EU projects according the EU guidelines and templates
  • Verify the accounting and administrative management  of the project
  • Collaborate with the project coordinator to monitor and advancement of the expenses and cash flow
  • Keep relations with the project’s partners concerning the administrative and financial issues
  • Ensure the correct execution and file of the administrative documentation of the project
  • Ensure the proper execution of goods, work and services procurement processes and conformity to internal procedures
  • Support in the elaboration of new projects

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 2 year experience in an NGO.
  • Educational background in finance and administration.
  • Good knowledge of the administrative procedure of the EU Commission
  • Knowledge of spoken and written English is necessary
  • Good knowledge of Italian language
  • Good use of computer and main software for administration system
  • Capable of working in autonomy with high problem solving and organizational skills

 

CONDITIONS:

Temporary contract - consultancy (part-time)

This position is open to EU nationals. The conditions will be defined according to the experience and availability.
